World Menopause Month: Your Skin Is Changing. Your Makeup Can Keep Up.
We talk about the hot flushes. The hormones. The sleep. But nobody mentions the dryness, the sensitivity and the change in texture. Or the fact that the makeup you've used for years suddenly doesn't look or feel the same.
The short version
- Peri and menopause change your skin. It gets drier, more sensitive and more textured, and your makeup notices.
- Supporting your skin isn't just about skincare. It's about what you put on top of it too.
- For World Menopause Month, we've put our two peri heroes together in the Peri Bundle.
Here's the longer version.
We adapt
So you're left thinking, "Well, what am I supposed to do with that?" The answer is that we adapt.
That's why we made BOOIE. Makeup for real life, and for skin that's changing. Because looking after your skin doesn't stop at your moisturiser. What you put on it every morning counts too.
Makeup that works with changing skin
It's choosing a base that feels hydrating and comfortable when your skin is dry. Excellent BB Cream gives you light coverage with hyaluronic acid and SPF 30, without the heaviness of a full foundation.
It's a cream product that doesn't cling to every little bit of texture. Bam! Bam! Bam! blends into your skin instead of sitting on top of it, on your cheeks, lips or eyes.
It's a lip product that feels nourishing instead of drying. Where the Hell Is My...? Tinted Lipstick Balm gives you sheer, buildable colour with the comfort of a balm.
Whatever your age. Whatever your skin is doing. Whatever the moment.

What's actually going on with your skin
As oestrogen drops, your skin makes less oil, holds less moisture and loses some of its firmness. Hot flushes can leave it red and prickly on top of that. That's often why makeup starts clinging, settling or disappearing by lunchtime.
We've covered the skin side in more detail in Itchy Skin During Menopause And What Helps and The Best Skincare Routine For Menopausal Skin, so we won't repeat ourselves. In short: it needs more moisture and less aggravation.
Meet the Peri Bundle
For World Menopause Month, we've put our two peri heroes together in one bundle. One for your body, and one for the moments you'd rather not have in public. They're not just for perimenopause, either. Use them during peri, through menopause and well into post menopause. Whenever the symptoms show up, so can these.
What's in them
- Ribose: a sugar your skin already uses. It helps support firmness.
- Ceramides: the fats your skin barrier is made of. They help keep moisture in and irritants out.
- Cocoa butter: extra richness for the really dry bits.
- Collagen: helps skin feel smoother and more supple.
- Aloe and vitamin E: soothing and protective.
- Menthol: a subtle cooling feel as it goes on.
Cool Your Jets Rose Water Spritz
- Hyaluronic acid: a water magnet. It pulls moisture into your skin and helps it stay there.
- Menthyl lactate: the ingredient behind the instant cool-down.
- Cucumber: refreshing and hydrating.
- Rose geranium oil: where the rosy scent comes from.
- Pomegranate: antioxidants to help protect skin from everyday stress.
- Calendula and black cohosh: calming botanicals for skin that's feeling reactive.
What it's not
It's not hormone treatment. It won't stop hot flushes, fix your sleep or bring back your memory of where you parked. It's skincare. It helps your skin feel comfortable, hydrated and a bit less like it's working against you. For everything else, see your GP.
What's in the bundle
- Smooth Operator Body Cream: rich, daily body moisture for dry, crepey skin. It smells like cucumber, not like your nan's handbag.
- Cool Your Jets Rose Water Spritz: a cool-down in a bottle for hot flushes, dry office air and general rage. Keep it in the fridge for extra effect.
What customers say
"Great product to keep in the handbag for those run around days where your skin feels sticky or clamy. Small spray of this and you feel totally refreshed"
– Jacqui (Cool your Jets)
"Love this, it goes on well and I love the smell, it smells just like a spa day! Been using it mainly on my legs to help keep the old lady dry legs away!"
– Karen (Smooth Operator)

How we're showing up this World Menopause Month
We didn't make the Peri Edit because it was trending. We made it because our community kept telling us nobody was making things for them. They wanted products that took this stage of life seriously without treating it like a disease or a punchline. So we listened, and we built it with them.
We'll keep talking about perimenopause and menopause loudly and without euphemisms. The more normal the conversation gets, the fewer people are left googling at 2am.
Your skin is changing. So can your routine.
Peri and menopause change more than your hormones. They change how your skin feels and how your makeup sits on it. You don't need a whole new routine. You just need products that work with the skin you've got now.
